Subject: I support CUPE 3902 Unit 3 members’ call for job security

Dear University of Toronto Administration,

I am writing as an about your current round of bargaining with CUPE 3902, Unit 3 members. CUPE 3902’s main priorities for this round of bargaining are to achieve tangible job security, recognize their value through compensation, promote better health through benefits, and to be treated with equity, fairness and dignity.

Importantly,  Unit 3 members are seeking improvements to their job security so they can continue to provide excellent education to the broader U of T community. As you know, good, secure jobs support excellent education and counter institutional barriers that make it hard for equity-deserving groups to get ahead. I and countless others echo this demand.

Unit 3 members have shown through their strike vote that they are willing to fight for their priorities, and it is crucial that a satisfactory Tentative Agreement is reached soon.

Sincerely,
